Kill The Rapist

          In the past week, I have come across more than 15 rape incidents in my Inshorts feed. Which means more than 2 per day. And I am talking about the incidents occurring only in India. After the incident in Hyderabad, these rapes have increased in an alarming rate. It is as if someone poured kerosene on fire. And as usual, our “media” began to cash these out. Every news channel started interviewing various people including victims’ relatives, friends, convicts’ relatives, politicians, protesters, celebrities, etc. And everyone gave their own opinions on this.

          Most of these opinions are taken from feminists, college girls and politicians. These people give so many comments on “the way parents do and have to raise their children”, “the way parents discriminate between girl and boy”, “how the convict has to be punished”, “does the way girls dress really cause such incidents?” and so on. And does these really reach the people whom they should reach? Well… Here is what I think…

          Whenever such a news of debate pops up on TV, I am the one who mentally suffer. The way people tell it is parents’ responsibility to raise their boy in a good way to avoid rapes may raise a doubt in a parent on their way of raising us. They may or may not actually get such a thought, but the thought of this possibility makes me feel uncomfortable to look into their eyes. Apart from this, it makes me feel really insecure about my sister.

          When I came across these many incidents, I began to wander the reason behind these. Even if they know that they are going to be punished, people are still committing rapes. So many people say that they simply can’t control their sexual desires. But is that the only reason? Well … Now I am going to share my views on rapists.

          Who are rapists?

          According to me, rapists are psychopaths whose mind is set to harass or kill a particular gender using sex as a weapon. And a psychopath is someone whose “mindset is terribly disturbed” due to some psychological disturbances. These people find their satisfaction through the suffering of others. The way other people scream in pain gives them a great pleasure. In a similar way, rapists find pleasure when the victim screams and struggles when they assault the victim.

          How are rapists created?

          Each and every person has their own way of perceiving things. These ways of perception depend on the atmosphere they grow in and their mental condition. “Atmosphere they grow in” includes the way people around them behave, their friends, the way they are risen. The way parents raise their children is not a major factor as every parent tries their best to raise their children perfectly. The only case where this is a factor is when the family is really poor where parents can hardly give their children a decent childhood. Even parents are doing their best in raising their children, there are cases when they hardly spend time with their child which is forcing the child to for outer connections. And as a child, the connections he made greatly affect his childhood.

          Here comes the mental condition of a person. Depending on the group one stays in, his mentality will be affected to a great extent. This is the very reason why parents have to spend time with their child. They have to understand changes in the child’s mentality. The way they grew up or any abnormal incidents in their lives may also affect their mentality. This is how psychopaths are created. Obsession to fulfill ones’ sexual desires may also create rapists.

          So, in this sense rapists are also victims of their own minds. Due to the reasons mentioned above, a rapist is born inside a human.

          How to punish rapists?

          If you ask me, I say to kill them without any hesitation. Well, it is the title of this article… Reading this sentence, some of you agree with me thinking that they should be hanged to death immediately and some of you won’t agree thinking that they shouldn’t be dead so easily and we have to give them severe punishments and torture them to death. But the way I said doesn’t belong to either of them. What I meant is to kill the rapist. Not the person.

          Psychiatrists should be recruited by government to treat such psychopaths and rapists have to realize their mistake. Their mentalities should be stabilized, and they should be trained and made a part of a team which works for government towards safety of women. This way, the rapist inside them dies and a responsible citizen will be born. Now, you may be thinking that I am being too soft on them. But it is completely the opposite. Realizing their own mistake and working against it is really hard. Every day starts and ends regretting what they have done.
